US Airlines, WORST airline in the USA, IMHO

US Airlines, Worst airline in the USA IMHO. If you ever felt you should carry your valuables so the baggage handlers don't steal them since the airlines refuse to accept responsibility for what they handle listen to this.

Counter agents will openly extort you out of your stuff knowing full well most fliers have to be someplace on a schedule. They will arbitrarily claim your bag is hazmat even though TSA people might have done a physical inspection on a table and you were cleared by two inspectors and a manager to verify you had nothing that violated any carry-on rules.

What airline hires such thieves. US Airways hires thieves to work their ticket counters and gates. They decide you have something they want and then as you are boarding threaten you will being stuck in an airport if you don't hand your valuables over to them, They stole an item that has a retail replacement value of over $1,000 from me knowing like most people I could not spend several days in the airport finding another airline with seats. I should comment in this situation a huge number of flights were canceled in the North East on Friday March 16th due to an ice storm. and many people were still stranded on Monday March 19th at airports trying to find seats to get home as all flights were basically booked solid. Thats how their extortion works.

The theft ( and it will remain a theft until I get my property back) by US Airlines counter staff occurred at Portland International Airport, by a single male who worked there who wouldn't even give legitimacy to his actions by revealing his name, though he claimed to be a manager which was confirmed by one of the women working there who also refused to reveal their names as well leading me to believe this is an organized theft ring.

The person I bought the item from who I will not mention here has so far not been able to recover the items they claimed would be at a certain location. I reserve the right to further actions if the item with a high replacement value is not made available as one of the other agents claimed it would be.

So if you are a car enthusiast, and plan to carry valuable hard to find parts with you. This is a wake up call to those who felt you are safe hand carrying them. And I know many of you have done this or plan to in the future.

Avoid US Airways at all costs, just a word of warning.

US Airways the worst airline?

I don't know about that one. It is a highly contested title, with American, United, Delta, SouthWest (don't get me started on their boarding procedure), JetBlue, going toe-to-toe on any pain they can inflict on unsuspecting cleints.

.........and that is just domestic competitors.

Ever tried Air India, Spantax, Aeroflot, Air China? Those scare the bejeezus out of fellow airline crews.

Axel

It's not only off-topic, but borderline libelous and should be deleted.

How could you not get theri names? They all wear name tags.

Also, this.
"The person I bought the item from who I will not mention here has so far not been able to recover the items they claimed would be at a certain location. I reserve the right to further actions if the item with a high replacement value is not made available as one of the other agents claimed it would be."

Why would the person you bought the item from be involved in the theft & how would they expect to get the item back, if even YOU didnt know who took it? Just "a manager"...with no name tag ofcourse.

Also. What "counter" agents? The ones you get the ticket from? If so, your bags HAVE NOT/SHOULD NOT have been checked yet. Hell you are just checking into your flight. TSA just doesnt grab people at random walking thought the airport 7 check their baggage.

ALOT or your story just doesnt make sense.

What is true isn't Libalous. It happened to me personally yesterday (not someone else) and had it not happened to me I would not have believed it either. ANd I will testify in court to its accuracy as well, as it might come to that if my stuff is not returned undamaged.

As far as being off topic? Well, how many of you have picked up parts and had carried them while on a business or vacation trip? I know quite a few people here have. So its not only pertinent but important to know if any of you think you are safe by hand carrying parts on an airline. This one in particular.

And I need to remind you that NOTHING in the box was on the prohibited list of items one can not carry. The box passed a visual inspection by TSA officials which meant X-ray then unpacking the box, visual inspection and getting a clean bill for it to be carried. Not a case of someone not watching a screen and letting it slip through. Also I might add the individual who took the package did not know what was in it any more than any other carry on, it was pointed out that it passed TSA inspection in that airport BEFORE I got to the gate and this was a purely vindictive act by someone (one man) coping an attitude.

Trust me in if you were carrying a a rare, expensive or hard to find item (maybe all three) would YOU take an airline who behaves in this manner. I no longer will, and hope to save even one other from suffering this fate. Reports have been filed with the FAA and other agencies are forthcoming. And that airport did have a theft ring operating in the baggage handling area in recent years that was busted. This issue is not with the airport or the baggage handlers but with one crew working for one airline.

And thats one airline I will go out of my way to avoid and even pay higher fares to avoid.
