Aston Martin is said to be sold as early as Friday. One of the suitors is ProDrive.

I would like to see a P/L analysis for the period of Ford's stewardship.

Yep and Ford killed the 3rd gen. RX7 in the mid ninties so they can sell more Ford Probes I am still mad cause there isn't enough of used 3rd gen. inventory for low aquisition prices.

Actually Aston Martin has done well under Ford. The qualilty of their overall product has increased, their supply chain issues that plagued them for decades were resolved and they actually got product out the door.

They seemed to let Aston do more of their own thing than Jag, which got way too much "platform sharing" with other Ford products. My friend who is GM at the Benz dealer is also partner at the Jag dealer in town and they have problems OTA with their cars.

I knew about Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover, but not about Mazda either. I guess with their financial troubles, it should come as no surprize that they're getting rid of some "excess baggage". I say that tongue-in-cheek because most of the companies we're talking about are (or have in the past) making some pretty nice cars.

Oh, no doubt that Aston have done well-they've made their first profits since the 1960s. What I ponder is how much cash has been pumped in by Ford.

You guys are not actually trying to ruin this forum by discussing cars are you?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I am actually one of the potential bidders. I can't believe they are auctioning an auto manufacturer on ebay! This is going to be so cool...no reserve.
