He apparently, like Rove, had the opportunity to be granted immunity by becoming a witness for the prosecution. Unlike Rove, Libby took the shaft. He will get pardoned, and for his and Bush's sake, the sooner the better. The special prosecutor has declared his job is over and he is going back to his day job. Had Cheney been called to testify, as he might have to in order to justify an appeal, the special prosecutor would have rolled out Rove and we would get to see another round of perjury charges, this time against Cheney.
