What being anti abortion and trying to amend the constitution to ban gay marriage is liberal....ok.

That is hard to say, as, if frogs as we know them did not exist and instead a similar creature with similar means for propelling itself existed with the addition of wings to glide to a soft landing, it is feasible they would still be frogs. Then again, I am not interested enough in knowing how frogs became known as frogs and whether or not adding wings would have inspired who ever named them frogs to have come up with another name to bother to research the subject. There are two sides to this assertion. First, you implicity assume the "Contract with America" was perceived as positive event by most Americans, which is debatable, given all the graft and sex scandals that was in the news, along with the vicious character assaults every election that the "Contract on America" brought. You also presume because the Iraq war galvanized the anti-Republican feelings, there was no other cause that could have done the same job. I think that is also debatable, but, since frogs don't have wings and do bump their asses, why start a debate on white might have been "if" Bush didn't start us down a path to repeat Vietnam.

Because the previous poster, whom I quoted originally, asserted that social policy had something to do with the republican losses. I was correcting his thinking.
