In a related story my wife has an Indonesian friend maried to a German, they were in Germany and she entered in to a draw and the 1st prize was a trip for 4 to Disney World Paris. Now these 2 were married in Indoensia and for the marriage to be legal in the eyes of authorities outside of Indonesia the marraige has to be registered with the civil authorities here then that paperwork taken to the Embassy of your foreign spouse and they register it and it is translated in to (as in this case) German language, Indonesian language and English and then all 3 copies are stamped by the embassy.
She won the draw for the first prize but was declined the prize by the Germans who ran the draw because she did nt have with her the German translation of the marriage only the English version with her. Somethings never change in Germany.
