J, if that is calling it like you see it you are losing your edge. And I never said I hate President Bush. I said President Bush is a MORON and his piss poor foreign policies KILL PEOPLE. Those are two completely different thoughts.

And I believe that it is commonly held that the Liberal view of the World is known as the "BROAD VIEW" but thanks for trying to clump me into the NeoCon [NewConfused] point of view. Should I ever want to try on White Sheets and Brown Shirts, I will give it a try. I hear the new Egyptian Cotton Designer Hoods are especially nice right out of the dryer.

Very hardened, pissed off teenagers, but he is right. The Pentagon has been saying all along that a majority of the fighters in the streets are teens.

When the famous Duelfer Report was issued declaring there were no WMD, the authorization to have troops in Iraq fighting anyone was rendered meaningless - meaning there was no longer an authorized mission. The troops should have come home.

The new mission you have outlined needs to be authorized by Congress. It hasn't been debated yet. No plan has been presented for debate and authorization. While many would agree Saddam was a bad guy, the path we have taken since invading Iraq has never been put into a proposal for authorization. Those words may sound like a mission to you, but they are really little more than an idealized description of a political solution you would like to see. They do not describe a military mission, something the Generals and line officers can derive their daily action plans from, something they can measure the effectiveness of their tactics against, or something they can assess how far along they are, and when they can go home with.

Whose plan is that? What is the timetable? What are the thresholds of determining cost and schedule acceptability? Which steps are military responsible, which are state department responsible and which are being handled by the US vs. the coalition of the willing partners? What is the "budget" in terms of cost and schedule for each? How many US troops are being committed for each military responsible task, and how many state department personnel are being assigned to the ones dependent on state department actions?

When will this plan be submitted to Congress for debate and authorizaton? It appears to be a start, but not plan to achieve a specific strategic goal. Jim

No, he did not say that. He said if Cheney were in power, more people would remain living, and then, noted that if Cheney had been killed more people would remain living. He specifically did not say "it was too bad Cheney was not killed in the Afghanistan attack." Go Google the transcript. By the way, he was correct. More Americans would be alive today had Cheney not been in power to bungle the existing Iraq containment methods that were working so effectively. Jim
