Please don't tell me Gore was much better either..................

In retrospect, damned near everyone was better, but more to the point, the collective "we" never thought that there would be 62,000,000 people that were frankly blindly stupid enough to vote for Bush a second time. Who knew there were 62Million people who would rather vote for a chump than think.

Was Kerry the right man? He was smart enough. He had a military background, solid Senate background but he got a $600Million RoveJob $306.3M from the Committee to Reelect Bush+RNC Advertisements+Rightwing Advocacy groups Ads. [Totals about $10 per vote].

Was Gore a better person? Hard to tell. My bet is yes. If you took a look at what the US would be like 8 years later, our standing in the world community would be much improve. Our Trade imbalance would have continued its downward trend, our National Debt would have continued its downward trend, we would have had a DIFFERENT approach to our response to 9/11. Iraq may or may not have happened, Afghanistan most likely would have.

But 20/20 hindsight is easy to guess and impossible to project. We have the hand we are dealt. To answer Tuetone's question of how such a "leader" can even get into the White House. It boils down to Media Manipulation. Not by the media as much as by the political operatives like Rove and Carvelle and Dick Morris. These guys have made it nearly impossible for a high quality candidate to be elected President. Now it is down to who can do the sound bite, who can hook the special interests, who can blow the most donors. You see the results.

I have said this before: it is looking to me like Kerry loosing was the best thing that ever happened to the Democrats. In the last two years, the GOP has utterly destructed itself. If Kerry had won, they would have had him to blame for everything. Now the GOP is stuck in it's own pile of shit. They are seen as prolonging this war even though every poll shows massive majorities in this country against it. Every day that people look at Bush and Cheney, they grow more disgusted with these baboons and their inability to live in reality. By 2008, this country is going to kick the GOP so hard in the ass that the Left will have the kind of majorities it needs to revolutionize this country and restore social justice and fairness to it. The Bush Administration has become truly anti-democratic, unwilling to execute the will of the people who live in this country. They will pay dearly for this. Their media manipulation is also self-destructing. No one believes their shit any more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Bush didn't win squat.

Diebold "delivered" the vote to Bush as promised.

Yup, with massive failure looming, they are scared shitless it's going to get pinned on them. And it looks like the Dems will give them the rope.
