To say the Indonesian pilot cae in to hard and too fast would be understatement, save the pic above and blow it up the crack in it is huge. They blamed a down draft but most think bullshit. The PR woman for Adam AIr that was asked by the press was telling everyone on live tv coverage the plane was not bent, when the reporter who had seen the plane and took pics showed her the pics, well, you should have seen her face, hilarious.

The official commentary is below:

MORE ADAM AIR WOES: An Adam Air plane sits at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java after a hard landing on Wednesday. All 148 passengers were reportedly safe. The airport was temporarily shut after the stricken Boeing 737-300 arriving from Jakarta landed and stopped suddenly in the middle of the runway, with its rear section bent downwards just behind the wing. micro bursts......

One of the most feared threats to any aircraft is called a micro burst. This a situation of intense downward draughting (or up) and often occurs near thunder storms in warm air and near the ground. The uncontrolled vertical accleration (downwards) could cause this. Micro bursts are not radar detectable nor visible.........Or maybe his "pilot induced" rate of decent was just too high?

^^^^Having flown with many Indonesian pilots over the past 17/18 years, I go for the pilot induced theory, I had a backache for 2 weeks from 1 such event.

Arrow air fred

the thing is thepilot will never admit itwas his mistake as it means his job and career are finished, plus the insurance company wont pay for the plane.

this was an expensive plane
its going to need some major repair if its repairable.
