Saddam had threatened and acted to control M.E. oil. M.E. oil allows industrial farming and transportation of farm products. Without oil, agriculture collapses to subsistence farming, condemning perhaps 2-3 billion human beings to death. Saddam can no longer threaten to do that. Good.

If some sort of popularly elected democratic government controls Iraq it is all to the good.

But you knew my position on that, so why bother going through the same Q&A another time? From now on why not just use a shorthand, "Bot's Argument."

Yawn, so besides some fictional hyperbolic crackpot 'what-if' scenarios, are there any concrete threats generated by the pre-fiasco Iraq?

No, I didn't think so. You guys fucked up, royale.

When did Bush say that this invasion was to prevent Saddam from getting his hands on Middle East Oil? For God's sake man, get some sanity, we had 50,000 US troops in Kuwait and thousands more in Djoubuti and Quatar. You are saying a country that had "no effective army" according to the CIA before we even invaded, a country that was so under the thumb of the US Air Force it had to bury it's fucking planes in the desert, was going to some how mount an invasion that would result in him "controlling our oil"? What were we going to do, stick our thumbs up our ass when he invaded Saudi Arabia? It's all ridiculous bullshit at this point. Here is the truth: the UN Weapons Inspectors gave us an accurate picture of the shape Iraq was in. Much of the CIA did as well. BushCO invented their own world, the same way you are doing so here, to justify a war we did not need at the expense of the war we did. A collosal mistake that it keeping us tied up from fighting the real war on terror.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Found guilty of self-inflicted, insipid blindness.

Since your team has destabilized that region and reduced Merka's standing in the global community, my kids may very well pay with their lives for shear hubris of our present foreign policy. Your team fucked up, bigtime.

I'll stand behind the p-resident...right before I frog-march him and his sidekick, Shrub, out into the rose garden for a very public whipping.
Have you ever thought that if YOUR team didn't screw up first, we would never have been there?
If Clinton had pulled his head out of his ass, maybe left the interns alone, and had Bin Laden terminated when he had the chance, there would not have been any "excuse" to attack Iraq the secind time..... But you guys just complain about what the other team does, never about your own screw ups....

Here's a what if for you.........
What if the United Nations had the balls to stand up and do something about all the sanctions they imposed in Iraq? Maybe we wouldn't be there?
