Nice try, but I remember when the '85 Eldo's were new and basically the only people who drove them were country club house wives and an auto parts store owner. Back in high school I detailed these all the time, as well as Town Cars, DeVilles, Fleetwoods, XJ6's, 450SL's, 450SEL's and tons o' turbo diesel mercedes. The mercedes were easily the best built. Cadillacs had the look and that was it.

Wow, neat blizzard story. I think the boys planted M-80's in the tire. They were seen laughing inside the house after the incident.

It appears she locked herself out in gear, the wheel spun like crazy, heated up and there was a massive blowout. In those temperatures, plastic becomes hard and brittle and that degree of damage is not unheard of. Easier to concoct a electrical conspiracy theory though.

TR5/6 were cool. TR7 were one of Leyland's greatest jokes. Most of them were sold in the USA.

There was a time a hetero man could don a mustache as well. Those days are long gone, my friend.

All this fond remembrance of Lucas electrics in certain English cars is nuts. That stuff is shit, pure shit, pure shit with nuts spread around the steaming fecal matter. Anyone that says different is either a no self esteem, sentimental idiot, or a fool who never owned anything with it. After my E type and my current Corniche II, chasing electrical problems is not a matter of if but a matter of when. Basically on the Rolls you just try to keep the heater, air con, and lights working, and let the rest blink, flicker, and smoke at random. Makes a Cadillac look like a work of art, makes a Benz look like a master race piece from outer space.
