How would you judge unbiased reporting in regard to the atrocities of Pol Pot or Hitler? Is it even possible? What would that entail?

Eh, from what I can tell, you have reached and held your position on whether or not we shoulda gone there in the first place with more foresight than hindsight, which I can accept. For my part, I believed the WMD's were there and that Saddam would have no problem handing them over for use by terrorists. That was less of a problem prior to 9-11, when it became evident that the enemy was amongst us. I think there were a lot of people in the same frame of mind back then, on both sides of the political aisle, and certainly within the Bush administration. I take issue with those who have designed more sinister motivations for going over there, but the administration has brought a lot of that on themselves by waffling around once it became apparent the WMD's weren't there as expected. I also take issue with those who say they were duped instead of saying they were wrong.

You equate Pol Pot & Hitler with the current war. There is no way that we can engage in effective communication, if that is your belief.

Follow the Scooter Libby trial, you may soon change your tune on that score.

It is possible the current radical executive branch really believed the shit they concocted as a means to a higher end that the stupid public would never allow or even understand. I presume they were thinking long term about oil and middle east stability. They failed as of this moment.

No argument here.

In other words, your whole position falls apart if there were never any WMDs there, agreed?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

American actions in Iraq has made us responsible for the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. It is unfortunate you are unable to face up to that. It is as much a moral disaster for us as it was for the German people. Three million Iraqis are currently refugees, and death among them from starvation and disease is also horrrifying. It is sad you cannot see that George Bush has turned Iraq into a giant Death Camp.

That you see no difference between the goals and methods Pol Pot's regime and the goals and methods of the current democratically elected and re-elected administration renders attempts at intelligent analysis and communication, unrewarding.
