The company I work for built the Ballpark in Arlington, and is building the new Cowboys stadium. We also built Reliant Park (Houston Texans), which was previously our biggest job ever at around $375 million.
The BallPark was about a $180 million project, and was completed in 18 months
. It's an absolutely remarkable feat. In fact, there was a fire in the skyboxes right before opening day - one of our superintendents worked about 48 straight hours to get them rebuilt, re-inspected & certified, cleaned-up, etc. in time for opening day.
You could probably hit a driver from the top of the left-field wall at Ameriquest Field (as it's now known) and land a shot on our construction offices at the Cowboys project.
Jerry Jones isn't fucking around - he wants this to be "the model" for new professional sports venues the world over. It will be absolutely amazing when it's complete. Of course, for over $600 million, it should be. Frighteningly, original plans called for it to be a $1 billion structure - nobody would bond a job that big though, so it'll have to be done in pieces.
Just over 2 years away from opening day...
