Well, that would mean they were ready, but due to the tragic accidents they didn't make it.

I think I already posted it, but here we go again.

There was a deadly sect called Assassins, kings and queens were afraid of them. Their leaders used gashish on their followers so dedicated assassin could go and kill anyone thinking he would go straight to paradise ( with 72 virgins, but of course).

Then the Mongols had invaded the lands. They learned about the Assassins order, sent quite a few troops..

They simply killed them all. No one was left.

No one had ever heard about Assassins order again. Only the name remains.

Bush is responsible for selecting Iraq to invade, selecting the timing, selecting the battle plan and refusing to acknowledge the results did not measure up before 4 years went by. I see nothing in those decisions to warrant trusting him to continue making decisons for us in matters of any importance. Jim
For me, it is the difference between objective and execution. There's no disputing your paragraph 2 that execution was piss poor. The response of mine you quoted was aimed at the assertion the Iraqis were against us at the outset, which is not true.

So, it wasn't Bush's decision to invade Iraq?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Define "Iraqis".

Yes it was . . . like others, he believed those WMD's were there and shouldn't be, and made the decision to go get them. You contend quite a bit that it was Bush's lies that led Dem's to back the war resolution . . . who was lying to them in 1998?

We invaded and occupied Iraq in 1998?
