That last clip came from the Combatant Status section of the Terms Document. The point is that, most of the "enemy combatants" that were taken from the Afghanistan or Iraq, or in some cases Cleveland, are all entitled to due process under World Court, Geneva Conventions and even US law since Gitmo is part of the United States, albeit, tucked away on the isle of Cuba. They are entitled to legal representation and no weenie lawyer from the Pentagon has the right to insult attorneys for representing clients, for any reason. That is one of the cornerstones of our legal system.
For a DoD lawyer to make those comments continues to show the arrogance and contempt that the Pentagon has had for both the law and the Geneva Conventions since Day1.
We have a war to fight against Terror. We should fight a good fight and win but to do so unethically, illegally and condemnably is an abhorrent insult on the way America is and how America does things. If this country is going to beat Terrorism, it has to do so with a White Hat strategy. Anything else and we lose.
Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.
