Burning Waste Veggie Oil in a Mercedes information

HI all,

Dodn't know if you're aware that eBay now offers free guides, written by anyone about anything. I wrote a quickie on burning WVO in a diesel and gotten quite a few "yes" to the was this helpful. This got me into the top 5000 reviewers (just another icon added to the rest on my eBay NIC).

Well if you could read my guide and answer yes to "Is the guide helpful" question (if you feel it was helpful or informative that is) I just might see me reviewer rating soar. Plus you'll learn a little about burning WVO.

eBay Guides - Burning WVO Waste Vegetable Oil in Diesel Vehicles benz

Thanks in advance

Marty

Some enterprising youngster could go to Humbold County and help those poor energy wasting pot growers to convert their generators.

Screw mixing WVO and gasoline. At least have the sense to mix oil with kerosene. But nothing touches homebrew biodiesel for fuel quality and cost.

Ohhhhh, no no no, please, no oil with kerosene. They do that in Lima Peru, and every truck, bus, or 1957 Chevy sedan down there that does it is literally a rolling automotive bonfire, trailing hideous, gassy, greasy black clouds of smoke out their tailpipe. They call those cars the "Petroleros", it is amazing and horrifying to see even one of them in action. But in Peru you "run what ya brung"
and kerosene is cheaper than gasoline, there, especially "sin plomo" (unleaded)

That city is far far more polluted than Los Angeles, or even Mexzico City, ever was, as a result of the auto air pollution.

Don't believe me, then go there.... and experience it yourself, your eyes will tear up all day, at night you will have to wash your hair in the sink, and watch the black particulate matter come out of your hair and go down the drain, it is hell.

Muchas gracias

Just today an old Merc oil burner chugged past as I was walking up the hill. My nose told me that it had clearly been 'fish and chipped'.

And that is partly my point as well. These old Mercedes diesels have no pollution controls whatsoever, so mixing gasoline in with vegetable oil is worse than kerosene, given the PAH and VOC content. Like I said, BIODIESEL is a better fuel and may end up costing less too.

No, it doesn't "all burn up". Also gasoline tends to separate from the oil at colder temperatures. Additionally Benz diesel fuel systems are not designed to handle volitile liquids, having vented tanks and no charcoal cannisters or manifold vacuum. Gasoline is unsafe, separates, and is a poorer quality fuel for a diesel engine.

Gasoline reduces the fuel's lubricity, which is very hard on the tight tolerance bits in the injection pump (plungers and barrels).
