SMU now debating Bush library...

that was confirmed as the only choice as of Jan 21, '06. Laura Bush graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and Crawford, Texas is only 85 miles away. If allowed the W library will be the third presidential library in the state of Texas. It is firmly rumored W. has already purchased an extremely prominent lot in Highland Park for his second "in town home" away from the ranch (over 3 million dollars for the lot alone.)

My old Alma Mater has received enough formal letters and complaints from local citizens, professors, and even the head of the theology department at SMU to please not allow the George W. Bush library to be affiliated with the SMU campus. They cite that it might be a mistake to associate the SMU name with W's presidency. One Dallas citizen went to so far as to say that Dallas is already infamous for the JFK debacle, Dallas does not need a second infamous marker.

BTW, I read this not in the Dallas Morning News today but in the New York Times. As a citizen of Dallas and an alumni of SMU I am moved to write in my concern of the appropriateness of this notorious library addition to SMU. What is most interesting is that this subject would even come up, much less allowed to be heard from in a civil forum as Dallas is the #1 Bush backing city in the USA according to most statistics.

I have never heard so much chatter about a library and a legacy from a sitting president before. EGO = Edging Good Out.

This is man who cannot have too many libraries dedicated to the greatness of his leadership, not stop all the jealousy and get over it.

How big could the library be? There were only a few Curious George books published. If he could get through one a year, he would be covered until he is 75. Laura will help.

Add in the Foreign Policy and Economics for Dummies Series you might cover two shelves.

His library should maintain a copy of The Pet Goat, for every Merkin KIA since he embarked on his ill-conceived global blow shit up campaign.
