Yeah, I had to borrow a 940 Turbo Wagon from the company fleet one time while my own car was awaiting arrival of spares. It was nasty, nasty, horrible, shitty and nasty again. Couldn't wait to see the back of it.
940's were pretty bad. 240's were great. I have a V50 T5 sportwagon and love it, even though it's basically a European Ford Focus underneath.
He's been through 4 cars already. These guys can't blame me for getting him out of the cool ones can they!

Showing off really has more to do with the driver than the car. I learned how to drive in a Lexus SC400 {250HP V8, 1/4 mile in 15.2} and my current car is a 1988 Acura Integra, which I have owned since before I could drive. I am 17 {I turn 18 next month}, and I have had no tickets or accidents EVER.
Also, I have had a bad experience with a Volvo 960 Wagon {a detailed account of it is in the worst car thread}, but it has been a money pit for 8 years. Also, on another note, if your son is a gearhead like me, and the vovlo is rear wheel drive, it may not have been a good idea as it is easy to put a small block Chevy V8 in the car, and that defeats the main purpose of having him drive said vehicle.

4 cars, huh?
I think the problem, herein, lies with the fact you are buying him cars instead of requiring him to actually get a job and get his own. In retrospect, maybe he deserves a Volvo . . . wagon, that is. A Volvo is about the geekiest f^ckin car I've ever seen and the interior is shit!

Nah, she should buy him an Audi TT, then get license plates with Shane's phone number. The license plate frame can say "IN CASE OF SUDDEN ERECTION CALL".
