Small insect inside my screen!

Check out this poor guy's cry for help over at the Apple support forums after he founds out very tiny little animals living in the screen. A whole new meaning to "buggy" computer hardware...

http://discussions.apple.com/thread....2848&tstart=15

Here is a link to a YouTube.com video of the problem.....

Thanks, D.

There is a piece of Lexan that covers the actual LCD screen to prevent damage from occurring to it via ink pens, finger prints, static shock, etc. There is also a small opening at the bottom and top that allows for moisture displacement so not to allow excessive condensation to take place if the machine undergoes a drastic temperature change. He obviously has these bugs in his house and they crawled into his computer and made their way in.

We had a spider inside our 50 inch Sony rear projection TV.

Now we have spider webs that you can see when the screen is white.

It is $400 to get them cleaned out.

Couldn't you DIY? There must be some service manuals available with the instructions how to disassemble/assemble those things.

But yeah, Sonys are buggy too.

That has not been my experience. I've had almost all Sony's for a very long time and find they outlast other brands by two or three times, w/ virtually no bugs that I can recall. Plus they have the advantage of producing the very best picture quality of anything I have seen. There really is no comparison in terms of longevity or quality, IMExperience. They cost a little more, but I pay it gladly.
