1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale
I've had pretty good luck, with the cars I've owned, but I guess the worst was the '77 Olds 88 Delta Royale coupe with the THM200 "metric" transmission. At first it was good. I removed the monolithic cat and ran a straight dual exhaust off the 350 4v and that car flew, it was quiet and real fast.
I maintained it to a fanatical standard but after 100,000 miles it was like EVERYTHING started going wrong with it, one thing after another. It was almost scary.
Superficially, it had seemed very good looking, fast, safe, luxurious, comfortable and nice, but somehow it didn't impart any feeling of being well built, long lasting or high quality transportation.
I had bought it when I couldn't obtain financing for any used 240D, which was what I really wanted at the time. Funny thing, that Olds was scrapped many years ago by a previous owner but I'd wager the 240D would still be running today, if I'd bought it.
