The coolest thiing about a Fiero is that you could drop a small-block V8 in the back and get a body kit that made it somewhat resemble a Testarossa. Even then, it was the Yuppie companion to the mullet-wearer's Trans-Am in the 80's.
Cool litlle bastard, but..

One day I came back from work after driving 45 miles at 60 mph, showered, went out hoping to meet my blind date, started the car and put the gear into "R"...And the right front wheel fell off.

I fixed it and sold it to someone for $2500.

Blind date was a disaster too BTW.

1975 VW Rabbit. Made in 1974. Serial number 1722 -- one of the first Rabbit/Golfs ever made (yes...it was that early!) It was one of the first cars EVER with passive restraints: knee bolster, shoulder belt...but no lap belt. It should've been crushed at the factory as a pre-production piece of shit.

The car was already tired when I got it. The carburetor would not stay screwed down. The CV joint rumbled something awful. It blew motor oil through the PCV like nobody's business.

I took it from the USA to Canada but forgot to mention it to Customs. Like who would car about a $1500 car anyway? The car got seized by the RCMP. They forced me to take it back to the USA...it would've been more humane to take the piece of shit (yes, I say it twice) out back and shoot it to death...

Current: 1989 300E
Past: 2001 SLK320, 2001 C320, 1979 450SL

Oh christ one of my kids talked me into buying one of those pieces of shit. God, just mentioning that car, you made my skin crawl. The cooling system should have been called a leaking system. The brakes were always broke. The engine was a joke. God I hated that fucked up German revenge for the Second World War. One day it got towed on him for a parking violation. We let the fucking city keep it.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

My parents bought one new in 82 or so. It got traded in on a G2 Integra. For some reason I have no memories of the car, although I remember the day we bought the Integra.

1989 Hyundai Sonata the damn thing overheated driving the car from the dealer to the house. The damn tranny was the worse thing ever made. It would constantly get stuck in 2nd gear even after numerous trips to the dealer they can never fix the damn car. Fan belt broke off while on the freeway had the alternator replaced like 3-4 times and yes the overheating problem was never fix. All this and the car had about 9k miles on it. Oh before I forget the crank seal never stopped leaking after it went over 1k miles. Again it was replaced like 12 times.

After 2 years of nothing but problem with the car the dealer had the nerve to tell me that my warranty was no longer honored because they did everything on the car. According to them I already I used up all the warranty I had available for the car (WTF!). I was thinking of starting a class action lawsuit against this fools, but I didn't bother with all the trouble. Traded the car in for a Honda Civic never looked back. I don't care what improvements they made over the years but I will NEVER EVER get another HYUNDAI! POS cars period!

Yea I've only had two cars too, but the family's worst would have to be a 1984 series III jag Daimler XJ6...the rust....the electrical problems....the tranny...the pain.

Good God, the '75 Rabbit. The mind has a way of blocking out tragic events...it was worse than my Squareback. I finally sold it for almost what I paid, they were really hot back then even though they were such POS.
