I had a 68 VW bettle. One night on my way home from a nearby college party I saw a Pink elephant in the middle of the road so I swerved to avoid it and the damn car rolled and never ran right again after that.....

Got stuck with the very same (borrowed) car in Jonesboro, Ark. Had to have the dealer install a new starter.
Was compensated by some great times in Memphis, Loewenstein towers and a crazy girl, before Beale Street became so touristy.

First street bike I ever owned and the last Honda I'll ever own.

Whattayasay DR?
Hondas are generally perceived to be a cut above the rest of the Jap factories for finish and durability. Back in the 70s it was the 400/4 which sold and sold and sold........and I'm not sure they marketed the Hawk here. I think their first return to twins was the 250 and 400 dream, both of which were considered reliable but b o r i n g and sold mostly to old men or disinterested commuters. I remember that they offered an 'automatic' version of the 400, which didn't sell well. By this time I had a Norton Commando 850 Mk2A, with no electric start. That SOB taught me the art of swearing!. All the toe-rags had Kwakka 2-stroke triples like the H1 and H2 with the legendary rubber chassis. I would love an H2 in original purple.
Damn, you've almost made me want to dig out my Suzi GT750 and go for a smoke-but depression will prevail, no doubt.

A 93 Mazda 626, bought new and traded 12 months later for a BMW 318.

The Mazda was the most boring car I had ever driven and being FWD used to lose it on icy roads (I lived in Tasmania at the time).

The previous model which I also had was a great car.

A Fiat 125. Every problem is a large one - finally shot it right between the head lites and then watched as it was compressed into a 2 foot cube at the local scrap yard. Enjoyed every moment. Fiats are wonderfull cars untill some thing goes wrong.

>When the original timing belt let go at 173,000 miles, EVERY bolt in the top end >either cracked or split in two. I have never seen a car break harder, but then >again,
you want to break a timing belt in a Fiat 125 - the whole flaming car falls apart. Fiat had an unquie design flaw in the 125 - every single component was held together by the timing belt.
