Well, I don't see it as "Israel's War". Israel is very much like the US - it has a left wing faction that is very liberal, a mushy middle and a conservative faction that is as overrun with religious nuts as our own GOP is, if not more. All these factions have de facto Senators and Congressman representing them in the US. I won't say that "Israel" orchestrated the war, but I would be the first to say that far right wing factions in Israel and far right wing factions in the US worked the deal to both their advantages. My conclusions are much different than yours - you see Israel as "in charge" or "behind" the war. I say a bunch of fucking fascists were - Wolfowitz, Kristol, all of these people are Jewish fascists who were supported by Jewish fascists in Israel, and all were working in cahoots with Redneck Fascists in the US, the current unholy evil alliance and criminal conspiracy in the world, rivaling that of the Nazis if you ask me. But that does not mean all Jews are fascists or that Israel is a fascist nation, it just means these factions got lucky, and there are plenty of liberal Jews who will work with those who fight for right and justice to defeat these bastards. It is counterproductive to piss them off by lumping them all in under one umbrella to define Jews as a class that is out doing certain things. The world is simply not that way. When the fascists are not in power in Israel, they don't act like that, just like we do.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
