A Lazarus viewpoint would be helpful.
I blame the original Bible scribes - they wouldn't last five minutes (2000 years later) as reporters for CNN, BBC, New York Times, etc... but man - have their columns endured, they're still being read!.

How is it we don't read about Jesus' failed first attempts or how he didn't really crank out the big miracles until he was over thirty? How about if Jesus got started by just doing nice things for people, you know, helping old ladies cross the street or telling people when they'd left their headlights on? Well, not that exactly, but you get the idea. How about if Jesus spent years working up to the big loaves-and-the-fishes thing? I mean, that Lazarus deal is probably something he'd have to build up to, right? Maybe, maybe even Jesus didn't believe in himself at first. Maybe miracles are like talent, and you have to start with the small stuff. I don't mean like Jesus did card tricks, but just not hurting people would be a good start."
Well, you have to remember the Bible was "compiled" by the early Roman Catholic Church, in an attempt to gain control over the rising popularity of Christianity. From the perspective of the church Jesus needed to be shown only in a "divine" light. So, all the "ordinary, mortal stuff" Jesus did was conveniently omitted from the Scriptures.

Yeah, the uncensored readers proof first edition of the Bible must have been a sensational read with all the warts still included.

JCs early years?

The only pictures we have of Jesus was when he was in the manger or after he hit 30. What about the terrible twos when he was testing everyone with tantrums? Or when he was a pre-teen learning how to masturbate? Or as a teenager recklessly driving the family pony? In school was he the class bully or a wimp? When did he start telling people that he was the son of God...and was that just a clever ploy to get into some girl's pants? We know he drank wine as an adult (hell, he even made the stuff)...did he do drugs in his 20s?

Did he ever work? His old man was a carpenter but there is no indication that the kid ever earned a buck. Did he just live at home with his mom?

Was he gay? He always hung around just with guys. Perhaps, he was ashamed that his dad was not his real father and that's why he did not trust women. Note that dear old Joe doesn't hold a big place in the church. Mary is right up there, but not dad. Wonder why...guess he knew Joe was not his real dad.

Supposedly he cured the blind and raised the dead (a 'trick' that modern magicians can pull off). But did he ever cause an amputee's leg to grow back? Nope, that's too hard to stage manage.

If he came back to earth now what would he say? "Holy fuck! I can't believe I did that!"

Isn't it coincident that 3 major religions all have an amigo who had no childhood and then famous when they hit 30? I often wonder who copied who.
