Our wonderful new Iraqi Democracy

This forum needs a place to post the daily news of the advance of Iraqi Democracy. After all, it is the cornerstone of the Bush Administration's strategy in the 'Global War On Terror': A democratic Iraq can be built by us in a few years, and then blue roses will fall mixed with gold flakes from the sky, and our lawn sprinklers will shower us with the finest champaign.

In today's news, an Iraqi voter decided to vote against the American Occupation yesterday by blasting a US helicopter out of the sky with a missile. Casualty figures are incomplete at this time. He is the third Iraqi voter to vote this month in Anbar province with a successful anti-aircraft missle attack.

In other news, another Iraqi voter decided to vote against the current Iraqi Government by detonating two car bombs outside the gates of the Green Zone, which is where the duly elected Iraqi Government hides from the voters who want to kill them. The Iraqi voter killed another 60 Iraqi voters along with himself.

The Government of Iraq's Ministry of Interior, the agency which runs the national police forces, spent another day sending out its Shiite employees to interview Sunni Iraqis on their views on Iraqi democracy. When asked what they had to say, the Shiite policemen said it was hard to tell, because they cut their fucking heads off after pouring battery acid down their throats. 13 of the interviewees were found floating down the Tigris river, presumably on the way to vote.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
