Does this guy seem like he has potential to do better over time? (A lot of the sales reps I work with were at places equivalent to an ADT cutting their teeth at 25. Now they earn $250 to $500k a year in their mid 30s.)
Or is he a knucklehead with no future plans?
When my wife and I met 12 years ago she made more money than I did and she told me straight up that she expected to leave her career to raise kids. Now she is going on ten years of "time off" and the fact that I was expected to support the family, combined with the freedom to focus on my work, has us earning far more on 1 income than we ever dreamed we could on two.
Unless you are looking to get married now, just have fun. You are 25. Enjoy it. Spend your money on trips to Mexico with your girlfriends. Post the pictures here. LOL.
Seriously, though, it is a lot easier to be in a relationship with someone who earns more than you do. Not a politically correct answer, but I see the results every day of the alternative. Successful businessswomen bitching about their loser husbands who don't earn as much as they do. Just before they leave the guy for someone better.
Well I'm not sure what I'm looking for to be honest, but I know I need to set my standards higher. Ya see, some guys (alot) see me for what's on the outside, and so I have a hard time trusting guys because of that. Mostly those are the hot, bad boy types, but what I need to do is look for normal nice guys. I just like that "thrill" of a bad boy lol But yah, I'm getting to a point in my life where I need to be more mature about my decisions in guys. Well in 10 years, I hope to be married, and have 2 kids by then, and have a very nice salary. So I'm glad I'm starting young in the insurance business, so that I have time to grow the business to where I want it to be.
Anyway, about that guy, I doubt he'll ever make that kind of money $500k in the small town he now lives in. So yah I wouldn't doubt they are making that in California. I'm not sure what he's doing with his money but he told me he's saving up to buy property, by living back at his parents (hes's 32). So I don't know if he's in bad debt or what. But I know he got a later start at his career because he played minor league baseball for a long time, played some major league games but never got a full contract, so he retired at 29, and started his career at 30. So I'm thinking there might be some jealousy since I'm alot younger than him and have a solid career. I'm not sure but when I told him that I had taken my exam (awhile back) he said "already?" I'm not sure what that meant, but I would've thought he'd at least tell me congratulations or something.
But yah I have been taking more trips with my friends, we went to Vegas not too long ago, and that was ALOT of fun So I will be taking advantage of things like that while I'm still young.
