Is a life without religion simply an easy escape or excuse from faith?

I don't know. What does your dog think about that?

Alternately, you can look toward philosophy and ponder your life away in reams of ethereal trivia, which is nearly as pointless an exercise.
Genetically Imbued? The will to survive is of self, the will to make sure others survive is not the result of random chemistry IMO. I'm not looking to fairies in the sky, but on the other hand, a series of instinctive reactions strung together and controlled by logic and complex social systems do not satisfy the origin of those "imbued instincts."

I see. So this is where your focus is on such a dynamic topic?

The tools of survival are more significantly specific rather than individual. Behaviors that are detrimental to the survival of the species generally result in an end to that survival. Just because you don't stop and ponder all of these things on a daily basis doesn't mean they aren't an inherent part of your nature. We are not the only social mammals on our planet. Similar behavioral patterns are easily perceived in a variety of primate and canid species, for example. Are you prepared to consider the "morality" of wolves just as you would our own?

It was not a frivolous question. Do you believe your dog has faith? And if so, in what?

I personally believe only humans experience an after life. After all, no other species was created “in God’s own likeness and image.” Of course, even this concept may be a tough grasp for all the nonbelievers.

^^^^^^

If that were the case, would we not all look the same? Which image is closest to God, Mr T or Pee wee Hermann?

Again, I ask:

Is a life without religion simply an easy escape or excuse from faith?
