I just figured out how to make self-made HD-DVD DVD and play it
without buying yet another expensive/useless HD DVD drive.
I am quite proud of myself.
Nothing else matters.
If you care, here is the guide:
Only your own HD content, but of course.
OK, I've got everything working as desired.
That's what you need:
- Ulead Movie Factory 5+;
- Nero 7.5.x;
- PowerDVD 6.5 HD OEM.
Select HD DVD as a New Project in MF5+;
Drop your HD files in,( I used HDV clips from my Sony HC3 camera).
Make sure that option "Do not convert compliant MPEG files" is checked;
Create project with or without menus (adding menus takes a long time, be aware).
Select "Output HDDVD folders" to your hard drive desired location. It will output ADV_OBJ and HDDVD_TS folders.
Launch Nero, select DVD Video.
Drop some dummy .vob file in the Video_TS folder.
Copy ADV_OBJ and HDDVD_TS folders into the root.
Click "Burn", ignore all Nero warnings about non-compliant DVD-Video.
Burn a DVD+-R or just a Nero image .NRG to test your work( if you burned .NRG image, mount it with Daemon Tools or Nero ImageDrive).
Launch PowerDVD 6.5 (OEM HD).
Select the drive with just burned DVD as your source.
Tada!
