It's in the Laurel River Basin, at least that is what we know it by on NGS maps. The closest town is Corbin. Type Corbin, KY in the box, we are off to the left in the fucking wilderness. Pan the map to the left to get an idea how remote this place is, you don't even cross another road for miles and miles.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Bring it on down, pardner!

What I have been really struck by is the simplicity of the music and the lyrics, very straight forward themes. Sort of the blues in a white boy/girl kind of way.
