Water Power!!

How to power your car with water. Water Power!!

Could this ever become a reality? We have heard from time to time of people who have converted their cars into running on water, but in reality can we ever expect to fill our cars from the water taps in our houses? We know that there is hydrogen in the water and that cars can and do run on hydrogen, but water is a different matter.

However there is a company that believes that they have the answer, this is called Aquygen and is produced by a company named, Hydrogen Technology Applications, Inc. who market Aquygen as a combustible gas, not quite water from your domestic supply but never the less water and you would need to buy or lease a Aquygen generator to produce the gas for yourself, so the idea of running your car on a bucket of water is disappearing into the distance very fast, and the costs are beginning to spiral as to lease or rent the equipment will cost between $160 and $365 per month.

Clearly from an environmental point of view this may be good for the world as a whole, but there are so many uncertainties, like water, if it becomes so valuable as fuel source, would the price it increase? Would it be taxed? So many unanswered questions, so much to look forward to.

Oh geez, what do you think is running the generator? water?
The way we extract hydrogen from water is electrolysis and that requires power. Now granted that the potential energy of the extracted gas might be higher than the conversion energy medium but that delta fades away once you have to compress the gas into a container for storage. In the end you will be paying more in electricity including the equipment rent than taking your car for a fill up at your local gas station.
Water is plentiful if you can remove salt and sediments from it. That also requires energy.
