OK let me make it easier cause it's kind of late and you probably need to make a run for some Red Bull to stay awake.
Can you just in one sentence explain what is a measure of best fit?

it measures the fit of your estimated equation from the sample data. the higher the r^2 the better the fit.

r^2 is between 0 and 1
