So admitting a lie is still a LIE. That is not misleading. A Flat out LIE to the American People for no other reason than politics.

He is not hired to be a politician, he is President. The President LIED.

Breathe, McBear, breathe!
Bush didn't say he lied, the reporters didn't say he lied, you said he lied. Assertions are not the same as facts. He offered some contrite-sounding explanation and nobody busted him on it. Except you, I guess.

Personally, I am deeply offended and even shocked, shocked that a politician would intentionally mislead reporters.

You're right, the President lied, it never happened before, and it will NEVER happen again huh?

Hey, a Lie is a Lie. I guess I should be more offended that no one did bust him on it. Maybe that is part of the problem.

When did it become OK to LIE, or "intentionally mislead reporters"? For National Security, OK. I can see. Politics, no way.

Lieing under Oath pissed me off even more. The left side of the fora that I frequented at that time did not enjoy my comments.

I saw an interview in Vanity Fair a couple of months ago and the question was asked when it was ok to lie and the response was: "when it has to do with someone's appearance".

That falls under the "Do these pants make me look fat?" rule. The response "No, Killian's and Pizza make you look fat" is the WRONG answer.

EDIT: Since wifie is a size 10, I can get away with it.

The experts said that we would use Iraqi oil to pay for the war and reconstruction.

He added that now the Bush Experts are saying that if we pull out then there will be chaos and turmoil. With the track record of Bush’s Experts, there is no reason not to pull out since they have not been correct even once.

This is a paraphrase, get the transcript of Larry King for 11/08 for the exact wording.
Where does one find experts to tell you the sky is red? All of these assertions are ridiculous, and it has nothing to do with hindsight. I knew they were ridiculous before we ever went in, and I'm an idiot. Iraqis weren't going to welcome invaders any more than we would, the war wouldn't be quick and easy, and Iraqis wouldn't embrace democracy any more than we would embrace communism. The "experts" seemed to have forgotten a very simple thing -- people are people, no matter where you go, and we are all slaves to human nature. Do something of your own volition, and it's a fine idea. Do it because someone is imposing their will upon you, and it's a very different matter.

It's more likely that Bush and co. listened to 100 experts, then threw them all out the door until one or two said exactly what they wanted to hear.

So with your logic and feelings put forward on the subject of presidents lying, I assume you were first in line for the lynching a few years ago when Bill gave his tainted testimony
