There are time for ideals and then there is time for understanding the will and needs of the people around you and not just your mindset. You can either be inclusive or exclusive, but guess which one always wins in the long run?

ideals will provide those needs to the people around you. if you live your life oblivious to deeper aspects of human life, you are stuck in a cycle of history where progress is greatly inhibited. we need new ideals from free thinkers and philosophers.

I think you are right but I do not see anything that drastically wrong with the current system. Now how to make peole pay more attention to their gov't is the real question. Then they will vote more independently. Education maybe?

I did not read all on the website but many agreed that Bush had the right to go to war based on what they were told by the Administration however all the "proof" was illegitimate and only the Administration knew that. Also, remember that Sadam was willing to let the inspectors do their job but the inspectors found nothing and when the Administration caught wind of that they pulled the inspectors out without letting the inpections run their course so we all could still assume the WMD's were there. End result? 3000 Americans dead in Iraq, hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi's and no end in sight for a war that had no purpose.

tough one.. definately takes thought. but there are no obvious solutions, otherwise it would have already been implimented. but people voting independently is only a small aspect of the solution. society has to practically be re-engineered to think on thier own. history has to be left in history as apposed to being continuously passed to the next generation, which thereby creates the same amount of retards to potentially replace the current retards in our government. our society has a bleek mold due to excessive exposure to media... somebody needs to get rid of that fucking mold sometime soon or we may not have a society.

i have to say this.. just because "we" think democracy is right for us, doesn't mean we need to shove it down the throat of every country in the world. it's called minding your own business. until it directly involves us, we shouldn't interact with other countries' conflicts. we shouldn't be there, and we shouldn't be influencing thier culture. and that is exactly why terrorist organizations hate america. everything about our country is evil in the eyes of thier religion and tradition. and if they had never been exposed to it, they would have no reason to oppose or attack us. therefore, no conflict. i mean, it's like shooting a random stranger in the leg just because they might have intentions to harm you. but of course, by harming them, thier pissed off and now definately have that intention.

The thing wrong with the current system is that it's become a good old boys club that only allows a membership of two. Viable alternative political parties need to kick the door in somehow.
