Hitler's core belief is in a National Society, a pure racial group that practices a homogenous culture with the aim of continually refining the National Society, hence "National Socialism". Marx's use of socialism refered to an economic system of state control of industry for the benefit of all mankind. I think Bertrand Russell put it best, that Marx is Jesus Christ taken to it's ultimate extreme, while Hitler is Darwinism taken to it's extreme. Where Hitler and Marx meet is in their agreement that only totalitarian systems can achieve these ends.
