NOLA is depopulated, having moved to Houston & 'lanta. It has less than half the pre-Katrina population. Anybody think it's a good idea to get that big again?

My little town has 2% unemployment.

I know the area was hard-hit, but you are missing the huge influx of development money and new jobs that have been created to bring it back. There is an economic BOOOM going on down there now. From what I read, it is unbelievable what is going on down there, and a huge amount of development money is being provided by the US government. This often happens after a disaster--natural or man-made. Governor Haley Barber said this could turn out to be one of the "best" things that ever happened in his state.

Well, for one thing, nobody can play a sucker as good as Bushie.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

Yes I do know that. His Statement was "Whatever it takes to WIN THIS WAR". My numbers came from the DoD and reflect ALL costs associated with both Afghanistan and Iraq to WIN THIS WAR.

See, the thing is I READ the post and answered accordingly, using those facts and math and associated logic to draw the conclusions required to make my simple little post. So, both my eyes and mind were very open and fully understood both his post AND the underlying budget implications regarding the National DEBT.

So, that covered the “WIN THIS WAR” portion of your post. It even covered the “Japan and Germany” portion which are in the regular DoD budget but not part of the $600Billion. Now, If you want me to FURTHER open my mind to the $4.5TRILLION in additional NATIONAL DEBT that W has added to each and everyone of our futures, I would be happy to address that with you. Be sure to bring facts and wear a cup.
