Stakes are high for business community in Nov. elections: http://www.usatoday.com/money/compan...t_x.htm?csp=34

"The last time they (Democrats) had control of Congress, in 1993, they passed a massive tax increase. They'll do it again if they can," Vice President Cheney told a recent fundraiser for Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo..."

Do not let it happen!!!

Cheney, as usual for this WMD-liar shit bag, is dishonest. First, those modest tax increases in 1993 resulted in government surpluses instead of the massive debt we have been subjected to by the GOP borrow-and-spenders, and second Shit Bag fails to mention that a Democratic president was in office to sign the bills passed by the Congress. The election of a Democratic Congress with a Republican president in office means that no tax increases are likely, and given the conservative make up of the potential Democratic House that you yourself pointed out in your other hit thread, the possibility of any radical leftist agenda is slim. Most likely what we will get is the thing Cheney fears the most: oversight.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
