I'm thinking we've been reaping what Kathryn Harris sewed!

EXACTLY the point. With Iraq there was a strategic interest.

I guess if you say "it's in our strategic interest" to attack, invade and occupy the formerly sovereign nation of Iraq enough, you might convince someone, but I remain somewhat skeptical. How are our "strategic interests" being served by willfully sending that nation into chaos? And, again I ask, what right do we have to their resources in the first place?

Give it a rest Z, we've been on this carousel too many times for you to have forgotten my whole thesis on this subject.

I found your thesis wanting. Please go back and re-draft with more content and analysis. Given all that's happened since you offered your first-draft for review, you may want to revise or overhaul both your premises and conclusions. You should also include recently published articles in your Lit Review.

The strategy is the same and I stand by it.

The tactical side is in trouble, IMO. But then, I haven't thought they handled the tactical side well since they sent the regulars into Afghanistan. It should have remained in the hands of CIA & Special Forces, IMO. Iraq was just more of the same bad idea.

Now we are fighting an insurgency in a war of attrition in both countries. That's the way that insurgencies have traditionally been fought and it usually takes a decade or so of hard fighting to get it done.

Oh well. It gives all the folks who want to kill Americans a handy place to take their best shot. better there than here.

So Dubya calls an unprecedented second press conference in the space of two weeks and takes from Bliar a a rare lesson in politics and admits he is 'dissatisfied' with the war in accordance with the majority of the American people. Meanwhile, his Republican cronies across the nation slap their foreheads in disbelief that he doesn't STFU so close to the elections.

Isn't that, what this forum is all about, opinions of how things are?
And how (I) would've done them differently if we don't agree with them?
