Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

I think when Bush is out of office, he is going to be charged with war crimes. He has clearly violated two death penalty crimes against humanity - agressive war and illegal, brutal occupation. He should be tried and punished as a way of keeping other would-be Nazi-style warriors on notice. Screw impeachment, the real battle in this country is whether or not he should be rended up to the Hague after he is indicted by the International Tribunal.

That is something that is never going to happen, except maybe in your dreams...

Maybe he should, but he had too many accomplices (unwitting or not). It will never happen. How about a class action suit to repay American citizens for the cost of his little oil war? Hey I can dream, can't I?

Illegal? Both Houses of Congress voted on it. It is legal, regardless of whether one believes it is wise or whether one believes about 1/2 of the members of both houses are stupid and the other half are corrupt.

The last time, in 1945, it was something called "The World". Others might use the term "Humanity".

Like the fucking Reichstag approved Hitler, dolt? If it was based on fraud, how could that be "legal"? If I was a prosecutor at the Hague, I would accuse and easily prove that George Bush misused his power to lie and defraud the US Congress into the war, and then went way beyond any mandate to carry out a brutal, murderous occupation of a nation that had done us no harm, in direct violation of the UN Treaty and the Nuremburg Accords. The bastard is so guilty, its pathetic. There simply is no difference between the prosecution of Nazis over the invasion of Poland and the US invasion of Iraq. They are legally and morally equivelant.
