North Korea calls for US troop pullout

NORTH Korea called today for the withdrawal of US forces stationed in South Korea, a day after it announced it would carry out a nuclear test.
“The US occupational forces in the South are putting spurs on warlike forces there while blocking the improvement of North-South relations by raising tension by reckless, provocative military drills,” said Rodong Sinmun, the official daily of the ruling communist party.
“It is our nation's persistent resolve and intention to force the US invasion forces to leave the South,” it said in a commentary.
Some 29,500 US troops are stationed in the South to help 650,000 South Korean soldiers face up to North Korea's 1.2 million-strong army.
“The occupation of the South by US invasion forces is the prime obstacle to the reunification of the country,” the daily said.
Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), meanwhile, attacked the South over its plan to create a missile defence unit to cope with North Korea's missiles.
KCNA as of this evening had carried no further articles on the planned nuclear test following its release of the foreign ministry's shock statement late yesterday.
The ministry said it would conduct a test at an unspecified date in response to what it called US aggression and sanctions.
Its only comment was in the daily media review.
“Figuring large in the press is a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK in connection with the new measure to be taken to bolster war deterrent for self-defence,” it said.

Now that's even scarier. I hate being in range of North Koreas missles.

I wonder how much gas at the pump will jump up even though North Korea has no effect on global fuel supply. Oh that's right, not going to go up until after the elections.

If North Korea does it, Japan will re-arm. If Japan re-arms, the price of oil will go up. We get higher oil prices and more places to sell weapons. Does that suck or what? What? You mean it doesn't suck? My Daddy owns all the weapon's manufacturers and your Daddy owns all the oil? Man, what a great bunch of Daddies! You want me to suck your what? Cheney, get Foley over here!

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address
