Are you saying they didn't sedate him or give him lidocaine at all? They just went in with pliers and yanked them? Or did he not get any vicodin or something afterwards?

I wasn't in the service when I had my wisdom teeth out, and while the pain of the procedure was itself blocked I didn't get any pain medication for afterwards. Something about not wanting to take the chance of thinning the blood, blowing out the clots, dry-sockets, etc. My post-procedure instructions were icepacks on the cheeks and rinsing gently a few times a day with warm salt water. (Lovely taste, that...)

My sympathies to your son for any pain he has and I applaud him for his service to our Country. I hope his tour is safe.

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

Thanks for the kind words. I hope he is safe also he is a good kid I think he is in somekind of security field.

Another question for thought and I mean no disrespect to the military but why do they send barely trained kids to the fight when someone older with more experience would be more qualilified?

Older guys haven't the stamina of younger guys, especially in the SF and intel-type jobs.

Younger guys are usually more eager to prove themselves while older guys usually believe they have more to live for ie families.

the reslt is that if you want a man to carry a 60# burden up a mountain and then fight you better get a few guys under 30 and maybe have some older ones give directions. Just like in real life except for the part where bad guys are trying to kill you.

Iraq or Afghanistan?.

I hope your son remains safe in any case but if the government is unwilling to pay for medicine required for what's considered standard procedure, especially to those who are about to serve for the country, don't you think it is indicative of something?
