Speed Addiction how many times over the speed limit are you?

It's bad to speed I know but i seem to have an addiction. I realised i tend to be 1.3 times over the speed limit most of the time.

I tend to double my speed limit on *nice* days

I am at least 2x the speed limit for a less than a mintue on 50 km/h roads if road condition allow. It happens onc or twice a day!

I wonder how to stop this problem.

I think I am having a complusive speed problem.

I am never at or under the speed limit on main divided roads or highways. The only time I observe them is on residential streets, when limit is low like 25mph, and in school zones and other places where there is an actual rational reason for the low limit.

When I used to commute to work, I would top 100mph every day, at least twice, and cruise around 85-90 if traffic allowed.

My standard cruising speed is about 80, which in most places has me barely passing traffic. On roads with speed limits over 70, I run about 100 unless I suspect there may be fuzz nearby. Non-highways, I tack on about 10-15 mph unless the limit is 40 & under, or I'm near my home, at which point I'm strictly business.

The *best* cure for this is a track day at your local road course.

In the mid 90s, I used to commute 55 miles each way, much of it on 'the road to hell' (M25) from my house in Kent to my offices in Surrey. In the mornings, it was impossible to make even half the 70mph limit. However, I often worked 'the kerb' and just about every evening I did a substantial part of that return journey at more than twice the speed limit.I figured it was a fair exchange.(My record on that journey was 38 minutes door to door, which included side roads and traffic lights).
Now, we have the most surveillance and speed cameras of any country on the planet and it is quite impossible to drive fast anywhere for more than a couple of miles at a time.I just don't bother any more.

I try not to speed but it's rather difficult. When on the interstate, I cruise at about 75-80 and get great mileage.
The troopers here don't much look at you unless you're doing 85-90. I've passed them on a hidden tree line booking 85 and they sat there.
