The motives attributed to the current administration are ridiculous.
Your blind obedience to the Republican Politburo is preventing you from comprehending anything that is out of tune with the Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice denial of reality. You feel much better believing anyone who finds the constant lying and failures, short falls and furtive, even secretive doings in conflict with the American ideals that have made this nation great hates America. It goes right along with your head cheese's mantra, "always do less than is necessary to succeed, then lie about it." Don't try to understand, just deny it! Call it a name that alludes to something your audience dislikes, and just keep calling it that name. Understanding, like diplomacy and honesty and operating within the law, well, they are all just barriers to subpar performers keeping control of the country!
The motives of the present administration have never been clearly enunciated. There have never been any serious hearings on why the need to go into Iraq was so overwhelming in March of 2003, and then, why Rumsfeld insisted on sending in too few troops, and then why there was no plan for the aftermath of deposing Saddam, and why we need to cede our inalienable rights - how would making the court's oversight of a group of inept bureaucrats with a truly dismal record of negligence and failure, somehow endanger the nation?
So, the motives are left to those observing this mess to imagine....some of us love America more than the present Administration. So we are left to imagine why anyone would want to weaken our Constitution, ruin our international standing on principles of humanity that matter, and squander our national treasure - the brave men and women who volunteer to protect America when she is threatened. I can't think of a single noble reason to embark on the course Bush has lead us. But I am sure, since you live to inhale whatever oozes from any orifice of his body, you will think of some concocted rationale.
Don't confuse your allegiance to Fuehrer Bush with standing for America. Jim
