It was worth it. It's like reaching for the reset button and realize what our country WAS about.

If you look at the picture with the chair, that was the famous Sun Rising. It was intended as a sun setting but Ben Franklin restated it as the sun rising over a new nation. Bush is making sure that we get in the dark as soon as possible. Maybe he needs to visit Independence Hall too and sit on that chair where George Washington once sat and rested his brass balls.

895 is great if you want to bypass Baltimore all together. It cuts south and rejoins 95 a few miles after going through a tunnel that goes under the bay.
You have to pay a $2 toll after the tunnel though but you would be doing the same if you stayed on 95 going south.
Be very careful and watch your speed on 895. They have cops everywhere and sometimes they drive Mustangs, GTO's and some really fast cars.
Does that help?

I know what you mean, it's tempting. I take 895 every morning on my way to NASA (Goddard) off of 295 to meet with my students. We have a control room down there and they get first hand software development for satellites from me. Of course by then I would have drunk like a big jug of coffee going down 895 so I am chillin

Professor Drew:

I lived in that city for 5 years and it's where I met my wife.
Lots of fond memories.

Next time you're up there, spend a night at Loew's Philadelphia, formerly known as the PSFS Building, a masterpiece of American Modernism, walk across Market Street to Reading Terminal Market for an Amish breakfast.

There's also a nice restaurant called Audrey Claire - we used to be neighbors with the proprietress.

Also, call ahead and book a dinner at Marrakesh on Leithgow Street, just off the bustle of South Street.

If you have time, take West River Drive alongside Schuylkill River (see the famous Boathouse Row along the way) and head upstream to Manayunk - where worked at my first job. It's so different from early 90's when I started my career there but all for the better and lots of eye candy too.

Nice photos
