Bicycle Riders - SUICIDAL IDEATIONS

Bicycle riders (spandex suits) that ride on the side of the roads around were I live here in Cave Creek Arizona literally risk their lives stupidly. With most cars traveling between 50mph and 60mph and coming within inches of hitting them from behind, most would be dead without even realizing they had been hit. When there is a bike lane, I see most of these morons riding two abreast. Is this hobby really worth the risk of dying?

If one of these suicidal bike riders swerves even slightly into the path of MY car and I hit them? I won't feel bad. They knew the risks and took those risks anyway.

Comments?

You are dangerous. I happen to cycle with "spendex" for the sake of showing off my butt and my frontal tools but most importantly because I paid taxes to use that same route you drive your tank into and mock us because your big belly and skinny legs would look ridiculous in some tight outfit. I ride with my wife for motivation and I enjoy the view so please don't come and spoil our ride because you think you own the dam road.

I am right there with you. The laws that prohibit bikers from riding on sidewalks should be repealed, and laws treating bicyclists as motorists should be repealed. These people are a menace, and purposely ride on roads that are completely unsafe for things that cannot maintain at least 1/2 the posted speed limit. Either ride in your neighborhood, or get a rack and drive someplace where there are trails. The prospect of a bicyclist being entitled to the roadway is a crock of shit. If anything, there should be separate bicyclist lanes that allow both them and motorists to share the same route safely and without contention.

You know the risks... You won't even see it coming...

Hope your tire doesn't blow and you swerve in front of me. I'll spread you over five miles of road.

Hey starcar, did you hear MTV is doing a "Teri Schiavo - Unplugged" special?

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

-President Barack Obama, 1st Inaugural address

I think we need a new law.

"Whereas, anyone who has a bicycle will be taken out and shot without trial".

No need. The sport itself eliminates it's own members.
