For years I did not want to switch to macs as I was comfortable with PCs and their easy modification. Now with the price difference between PCs and macs rapidly shrinking for equivalent hardware, the adoption by Apple of standard industry architecture such as ATA drives, Intel precessors etc., the ability to dual boot (or run simulataneous win, mac applications with paralells) the liability of a win only system becomes glaringly apparent.
For any home based security sensitive work (such as virtually anything on the internet) I would use the mac. For those rare applications which have only a PC version or to maintain your investment in PC applications (like MS Office which I have only for the PC) run XP on mac hardware.
