Why yes, they do. Mr. Chavez is also the freely elected president of Venezuela.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

Like I said, he is a democratically elected head of state. I thought that's what you buffoons wanted.

It always amazes me how much tyrants like Chavez and Ahmadinejad sound like our very own Democrats! I have a feeling they are doing more to help President Bush and the Republicans than any of the Bush-bashers on The Hill and around the country. I hope they keep it up!

Chavez was elected by the people of Venezuela by a large margin. How does that make him a "tyrant"? Man, people are so sick of right wing bullshit.

I was thinking the same thing. The House and Senate races are narrowing, Bush's poplularity is trending upwards to the mid 40 range, oil prices are plummeting, inflation and interest rates are holding steady, the stock market is poised to make new highs and the Democrats are making Hugo Chavez sound like a neo-con.

The Dems are over-confident and are primed for a major defeat in November. Expectations for Republicans are so low (based both upon historical grounds as well as current events in Iraq) that maintaining control of either the House or the Senate will be percieved as a major political victory for them.

The perception that America is besieged by foriegn tyrants is going to help the Republican's cause in November.

The Dems may be in for a very nasty surprise.

In what way do the Democrats sound like Chavez and Ahmadinejad? Care to provide specifics or are you content with your smears?
