Smart move by Clinton

She is making the right noises to calm the uncommitted middle about her future candidacy.

CHAPPAQUA — Sen. Hillary Clinton this morning blasted the producers of a new film depicting the assassination of Pres. George W. Bush.

"I think it's despicable," Clinton said of "Death of a President," a fictional film that features a staged assassination of the president in 2007. "I think it's absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick."

Clinton made the comments in her adopted hometown of Chappaqua at the annual New Castle Community Day.

The outdoor gathering of residents, vendors and community groups aims to boost volunteerism and inform people of good works taking place in the community.

If we excluded tripe from this board that would leave you with precious little to say.

WTF is your point, really? The thread title implies some bold shift in strategy, but there's been no shift whatsoever. Sista Souljah knows.

Raising the bar so high that no one can obtain it? Sounds very republican to me.

Practice your reading skills, Z. If you read carefully you will see I wrote the word, "S-M-A-R-T" not "B-O-L-D."

Your Sista Souljah observation is on point and accurate. It too was smart, but not bold. I'll bet this move by Clinton will help with moderate Repos looking for a reason NOT to vote Repo in 2008. Moderate Repos, like Moderate Demos, do not like bold things, they like moderate things. Safe things. This was a moderate and safe thing and provides the wonderfully moderate example of bipartisan and controlled outrage.

Senator Clinton is building a bridge slowly and carefully one brick at a time. This is the moethod that could help her win--to chip away the moderate Repos from the Repo base without alienating Moderate Demos.

Read my post carefully, and you'll see that I wrote the word I-M-P-L-I-E-D.

Both moves were carefully calculated, but I think Governor Clinton's shameless jabs at SS carried actual risk from an actual and significant Democrat voting bloc. Senator Clinton's shameless jabs might piss off the critical presidential assassin bloc, but there's no one else to upset. She's already lost the thinking members of her party, so she's pandering (as usual) to knee-jerk twits who bother to get their speedos in a wad about fictional slights against Merka.
