I was wondering when someone was going to mention that one; it's pretty impressive. I liked the original movie, too, other than that lame song.

I'm still a Bullitt fan at heart (at least for the chase scene and Steve McQueen, a great actor/person cut down too soon; but as one other post alluded, the plot's not terribly great) and one reason I like the older chases as opposed to the new ones is they were really driving the cars; they weren't so full of special effects as they are nowadays. Compare, for example, the Mustang scenes in Bullitt with the Mustang scenes in the remake of Superman II...you'll puke at the latter if you're a fan of the former.

Yeah Ronin.

Those older series Audi's look a bit odd but with a V8 and quattro, they hammer!

That WAS a great chase scene!! Under the NYC subway/above-ground trestles in the Bronx I believe/or was it the Chicago El? It took my breath away. That may actually be my second favorite. Thanks for reminding us!!!

You mentioned Steve McQueen.......... The Great Escape comes to mind, Capt. Hilts "The Cooler King" was one hell of a bike rider..........

I'd go with Ron's vote, and Ronin's chase with the 6.9, Citroens, Audi S8, M5, etc...

All selections are great but what about "Lost Highway" and "The Peacekeeper"? They beat up that silver Benz pretty good

And that oldie "Dual" where the crazed truck driver chases that Dodge Dart all over the desert.
