If the Democrats were in charge...

Here are a few things to look forward to:
  • Impeachment.
  • Cutting and running from the War on Terror.
  • Key defense systems dismantled.
  • Tax cuts repealed.
  • Speaker Pelosi!
That's what America could look like one year from now if Democrats take the majority. Don't wait a year find out how Democrats have weakened America. Get a sneak peak at what the news would look like in September 2007 - based on the Democrats' actual record - with America Weakly, the newspaper of record for the Democrat majority.

http://www.AmericaWeakly.comIt doesn't take a wild leap of the imagination to figure out what government by the far-left would look like. The Democrats are already bragging about "killing" the Patriot Act, openly discussing impeachment, and at every turn they fight to undercut the tools we need to win the War on Terror. If they're this extreme now, imagine how extreme they'd be if they had total power in Congress? Find out with America Weakly.

Such an unbiased view.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

The Democrats, given a chance, will gut our defences at a time when we are making good progress in missle defense systems capability. Paradoxically this is even more important now that the cold war is over as we face threats from rogue nations who are undeterred by the concept of mutually assured destruction.

A Democratic congress would be disasterous on so many levels but, in my mind, Home Land defense issues and fighting terrorism abroad would be particularly vulnerable to Democratic spending cuts as at least one left wing wacko here has already promised....

The more that the Republicans beat that drum, the better chance they have of getting re-elected.

I'd kind of prefer that we had the opportunity to examine the candidates on their merits, but I don't think those who mean to do us harm will take a lunch break while we figure out who are the best people to run the country.

The Speaker pelosi thing doesn't bother me especially--nobody in Congress has any substantial power unless the majority party gets behind that person. Just remember how the Repo Congress did under Clinton. Didn't get anything done without his compliance and he didn't work with them unless he figured-out how to get the credit for whatever initiative. Folks don't say that the economic expansion in the 19990's was the "Dole Economy" or "Gingrich Economy." Same with welfare reform.

So if the Demos come into power you can bet your bootie that Rove will finesse their initiatives just as Rom Emanuel and those guys did for the Repos.

I have no doubt that the Dems will make a run at repealing the tax cuts and at starting several investigations of the Whitehouse's conduct since 9/11.

They'll sling poopie around like an amphetamine-powered pinwheel. But I'm betting that it doesn't go anywhere because the Repos will actively undermine every effort while appearing compliant. Like Clinton did. The Repos learned a lot from that episode. Look for the gamesmanship to increase.
