Not a shot at all. There is a beauty to that expanse of desert that is very attractive. I like the coast region where I live, but when I want to get away from it all I often go to NM.

The whole Southwest is very rugged and attractive, but traveling at night alone, on those desert highways, I can understand why most UFO appearances happen "out there."

My bad, I didn't mean to imply you were taking a shot at the Roswellians, but that Contact might have been. Like Quest for Fire, Contact was a bitchin' documentary.

FWIW, I spent most of my life in Phoenix and Tucson, so I'm all too familiar with the rugged southwest. The desert has it's own innate beauty; Edward Abbey wrote poetically about it and still failed to capture it's essence.

No problem my friend!

Are you a FUTURAMA fan?

They have a funny episode relating to Roswell. I just finished watching it with my son.

"Tripping the Rift" also had an episode that was directly related to "The Roswell Incident". I thought it was funny as well.........

I'll have to look for it.

BTW, I've been following your posts in other threads.

Good going, you do have your fan base--even while others are sniping at you.

How do you like your SLK? I've been thinking about getting one. Next year I get a break on college tuition--my oldest graduates from college.

Hopefully it's all, or at least mostly in fun. We all have an opinion, and I think if things don't get too far out of control, we can badger each other about those opinions and still stay friends.

This is the second one I've owned. The 1998 230 was a fun car with decent (although not great) handling. Power was just barely adequate.
The SLK 32 is a different story altogether. Plenty of power and very good handling. The car has been pretty much trouble free, just a few minor details, troublesome, but not out of the ordinary.
If you're not interested in blowing off Corvettes, you might want to look at an SLK 320, or the newer R171 bodies….
