I pity you boo boo. Your all messed up man and you just dont have a leg to stand on.
Getting Bin Laden is fine as an act of revenge and justice. I'm all for it but, more importantly, is that we have not had a major terror attack against the U.S. since 9/11 and I don't believe it's because of a lack of effort. Elau has admitted (as if it's some kind of a rebuttal) that we have had some near misses. Correct. And the fact that they were able to preempt these attacks, if anything, is an indication, that our anti-terror efforts are effective. The fact that the terrorists attacked Madrid and London in the interval since 9/11 suggests that they have not forgotten their grudge against the west. You can be certain that if they were able to carry out another attack against the US that they would have chosen New York instead of London.
Furthermore this pre-occupation over killing off Bin Laden overlooks an important lesson we learned in Iraq. Capturing or killing the leadership does not destroy the movement. We thought that capturing Saddam would lessen organized attacks against our forces and it didn't. We thought that killing Uday and Qusay would cripple their insurgency and it didn't. We thought that killing Zarquawi would reduce sectarian strife in Iraq and it didn't.
So, although I wholehardedly support the capture or killing of Bin laden I am under no illusions that the threat from Al-Queda will subside when this happens.
And I am under no illusions that America will be free of significant terror attacks in the future. They will eventually succeed in launching a major attack against us. The state of Israel is a case in point. Although they have been the victim of palestinian terror for years and (as a result) their country is in a state of perpetual war and resembles an armed camp at times, they have been unable to prevent random acts of murder against their citizens.
Terror, as an tactic of muslim fundamentalist fascists, will not end anytime soon. We had better be prepared to be in this for the long haul. Either that or just start swearing your allegience to Muhhamed. Repeat after me: Allah akbar...Allah akbar.....
